Why Work With Me
I understand the late autism diagnosis journey from both a professional perspective and through lived experience. I have navigated my own late diagnosis and been an active peer supporter for other late-diagnosed autistics, so I know first-hand the relief, confusion, and identity shifts that can come with it.
I bring academic rigour alongside genuine understanding. With an MSc in Psychology, qualifications in mentoring and supporting autistic students, and 17 years of teaching experience, including extensive work supporting autistic teenagers in schools, I understand how to translate complex concepts into practical, accessible strategies.
More importantly, I’ve published peer-reviewed research specifically on what makes therapy effective for autistic adults. My study explored the positive experiences of late-diagnosed autistic women in therapy, using an appreciative inquiry methodology to understand what truly helps.
This combination of lived experience, professional expertise, and research evidence directly informs my practice, ensuring that our sessions are grounded in what actually works for autistic adults.
